The project
Where conservation careers take root Known as the “lungs” of the earth, the Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse habitats on the planet, breathing life into everything around it. What’s included

Project work

Help conserve and study the Peruvian Amazon through training, monitoring, and research.

Internship personal project

Work on an individual project that aligns with your personal interests. For example, analysing black spider monkey data, analysing biodiversity data or creating something on base to reduce our environmental impact.

Internship supervisor

Meet weekly with other interns and an experienced mentor to receive project guidance and feedback on your personal project and leadership style.

Leadership responsibilities

Take on responsibilities such as data entry, writing reports, updating species lists, social media content creation, leading activities and training other participants.

Pre-departure training

Wildlife conservation online course

Build foundational skills for impactful conservation efforts with GVI's Wildlife Conservation course.

Leading teams for impact online course

Build foundational skills for effective team leadership. This course covers essential topics like goal-setting, fostering supportive environments, clear communication, and developing a personal leadership style.

Careers in sustainable development online course

This course allows you to explore career pathways, personal values, and impact opportunities, mapping your career choices, building your personal brand, and helping you secure your ideal role in conservation.

Career coaching

Two career coaching sessions: one on job-market essentials like CVs, cover letters, and interview preparation, and another on goal-setting, aligning career goals with personal values, and planning micro-goals to address potential challenges.

Job portal

Get access to GVI's carefully curated job portal with vacancies in the conservation and development sector from all across the globe!

Certificates

You will receive a certificate for completing your internship, as well as a certificate for each of the following online courses you successfully complete and pass: Wildlife Conservation, Leading Teams for Impact, and Careers in Sustainable Development.
What's not included

Flights and airport taxes, medical and travel insurance, visa costs, police or background check, additional drinks and gratuities, extra local excursions, personal items and toiletries, laundry, local transport during free time, food and accommodation outside of the station.

Your accommodation

Our wooden bungalows are set in the heart of the jungle, seamlessly melting into their surroundings, allowing you to consistently feel at one with nature. Each bungalow accommodates four people with bathroom and shower facilities (no hot water showers though). 

 

Communal spaces like the dining room, library and terrace equipped with hammocks are perfect for connecting with fellow interns and volunteers. You’ll also have access to a study area with field materials, games and books, as well as a volleyball area for thrilling matches. 

 

To stay in touch with friends and family, make use of our Starlink connection from 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with download speeds of 30mbps and upload speeds of 20mbps.
